TMP U17 and Porter-Gaud’s Josiah James was one of 12 players from around the country named to the 2018 USA Men’s U18 National Team. The team posted a 6-0 record and collected the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship for Men gold medal in St. Catharines, Canada. He averaged 5.3 ppg. and 6.0 rpg.
Josiah was also a member of the 2018 USA Basketball Junior National Select Team that took part in the NCAA Next Generation Sunday at the 2018 NCAA Men’s Final Four. This is the latest honor for a player quickly becoming one of the best the Lowcountry has ever seen. James helped lead Porter-Gaud to a 3rd straight SCISA 3-A state title this season. He’s also one of the most sought after recruits in the country with offers from at least a dozen schools including Duke, Michigan State, Clemson and South Carolina.
Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton and 13 other past TMP players who played professionally overseas or are currently playing professionally overseas will participate in the TMP Legends Game scheduled for July 7th 2018 at James Island High School. The TMP legends game will be played by athletes who have been out of high school over 4 years. No current college players will participate.
Congratulations to Angel Middleton and Nicole Crum on scoring their 1000th point. Nicole is a two year starter for TMP and has signed for the University of Vermont. Angel (6’6” 2019) has multiple offers and is undecided at this time. Good job girls!!
TMP and Porter-Gaud junior point guard Josiah James has been invited to participate in the inaugural Final Four NCAA Next Generation combine to be held at the Final Four.
James, the state’s top-rated prospect in the 2018-19 class and a top 25 prospect nationally, will participate in workouts and games as a member of one of two USA high school teams. Two international teams also will attend the combine, which will be held March 30-April 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
Josiah Jordan James is the first TMP player to ever be invited to USA Basketball training camp.
